What happens when a little girl in tartan, full of sparkle and ideas, gets a surprise call from one of the UK’s most inspiring entrepreneurs?
She grabs her hat, jumps on a train, and heads to London to talk all things happy – of course!
That’s exactly what happened in the colourful world of Happy Tartan this week. In our latest comic strip, Bonnie, one of our beloved Happy Tartan Girls, gets invited onto The Diary of a CEO podcast by none other than Steven Bartlett himself.
From the Isle of Bute to the Big City…
Bonnie was minding her own creative business (probably designing something dazzling in tartan) when the phone rang.
“Hi Bonnie! How about a chat about all things happy?”
— Steven Bartlett (well... the cartoon version)
Cue excitement, train tickets, and lots of giggles. Bonnie arrives at The Diary of a CEO HQ, meets the wonderful Georgie Holt, and finally sits down with Steven to dive deep into the subject she knows best: being happy.
Why This Comic Matters
Behind the scenes, this playful story is more than just a cartoon—it’s a callout.
We’re building something special with Happy Tartan: a bright, bold, joy-filled brand rooted in Scottish creativity, childhood magic, and positive media. It’s about empowering kids to be themselves, to express joy through colour, fashion, art, and story.
Bonnie’s interview with Steven is a visual metaphor for what we hope can happen in real life: a partnership, a conversation, a spotlight on a small but mighty creative movement that began on the Isle of Bute and is dreaming big.
The Animated Interview – Coming Soon
Yes, it’s real! We've created a full animated interview between Bonnie and Steven. It’s currently in post-production, and we’ll be sharing it very soon. Think Diary of a CEO meets Bluey—but in tartan.
We’d love Steven, Georgie, and the team to see it and hopefully get behind this joyful, youth-led, creative brand. Whether that’s through support, collaboration, or simply helping us spread the word—we’re ready to chat.
From Our Heart to Yours
This journey has been built from scratch, with creativity, belief, and a whole lot of hustle. No investors, no shortcuts. Just heart, humour, and a belief that tartan and joy go hand in hand.
If you're reading this, and it makes you smile—please share and tag and if you can get Steven to see it - then please do :D
Because if we’re going to bring more colour, creativity, and kindness to the world, we’ll need all the help we can get.
With love and a sparkle of tartan,
The Happy Tartan Girls
